Here are four examples of the scheme used by Rock Island on its passenger diesels in the early 1940s. First is the E6, which is my inspiration. However, I changed the center band to beige from the original red to make it stand out.
Next are the SD-45, SD-70M and P32. Rock Island never owned any of these latter models, but the paint scheme still works.
